WHAT IS JAMABANDI?

Jamabandi is the official land revenue record maintained by the Punjab government. It lists the owner's name (Khatedar), the land area (in Kanals and Marlas), the type of land (agricultural, residential, commercial), and the cultivation / possession details.

Simple version: Jamabandi is the original title document of land in Punjab. Before paying any token money for a plot or agricultural land โ€” the Jamabandi must show the seller's name as Khatedar. If it does not โ€” do not pay.
